How long have you been in business?
The Body Mechanix has been in business since 1985.
What is your primary product or service?
Massage is our only business. We have a professional massage therapy clinic with several therapist performing different massage techniques each tailored to the needs of the client. We also sell professional massage supplies and equipment.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I injured my back in an automobile accident. I had surgery and had pain continusouly for seven years. Experimenting with massage I pressed a place on my body and my back quit hurting. I signed up for massage school training and have doing massage therapy ever since.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
The Body Mechanix is the parent company of BMSI Institute L.L.C., the first massage therapy training institute licensed in Kansas by the Kansas Board of regents. BMSI is accredited by Council on Massage Therapy Accreditation (COMTA). Some of the instructors work in our clinic and continuing education keeps them current in new developments in the field of massage.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Currently our only locatition is 8665 W. 96th Street, Suite 300, Overland Park KS 66212. All through the years there has been opportunity for expansion and growth, however our philosophy is to help those in the community, and we feel large does not neccessarily equate with quality.

We are just South of 95th Street and Antioch, in the 96th Office Park. It is located behind China town cafe on the east side of Antioch.

We accept: Cash,Checks, Visa, MasterCard and Discover card.
Which areas do you service?
We have clients from all around the KC metropolitan area. Some repeat clients come from all around the globe and stop in to see us when they are in town.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
The owner is and has always been C. Michael Pizzuto NCBTMB, licensed massage therapist for over twnety years. He is licensed in Overland Park, KS, the States of Florida, and Missouri and registered in Texas as a massage therapist and instructor. Michael has studied Tuina massage in The People's Republic of China, was on the Board (as treasurer of the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork),past President of the American Massage Therapy Association Kansas Chapter, and now serves as Treasurer of the AMTA Kansas Chapter and also sits on a committee for NCBTMB
What are your hours of operation?
Our hours of operation are:
M-Th 10:00 am to 7:00 pm
Friday 10:00 am to 6:00 pm
BMSI is open on weekends (Call before comming as we are not open every weekend.)and some week days. Our students perform massages to the public at our location only for a reduced rate.
